Very curious the reason behind this.
Is it because FL wants to sell more resin?
Is there a qualitative reason?
It certainly adds to the time factor, for additional time cost.

This was my standard when using a dlp printer from another company years and years ago.
I broke more prints when they were attached to the build plate then when they were elevated 5mm. Also, most of my prints were rotated so they were going to be lifted anyhow.
I believe it where the prints have the best success rate and they want to keep it user friendly for set up and go users it doesnt use that much more resin though thats why its just the baseline adjust from there to get your desiredprint out i run most prints around 30° angle so mine will be up anyways and it also does help when removing some more fragile builds off the platforms.
Thanks @Davidwedge for your question! @MattRForerunner has it right in explaining that we optimize these settings for the greatest success of our widest user base - so that means choosing settings that work for most users, for most prints - just like raft thickness or any other defaults. We definitely encourage you to experiment with different heights for making them work for your needs.
