USB comms error

Hi, I have a Form 2 and I get the error message in PreForm that the printer is use by another instance! I have uninstalled PreForm restarted and reinstalled the latest version, all to no avail. Because of where this is located the only option available to me. there seem to be no settings I can check, the printer is showing in the printers settings.
Anybody got any idea what I can do?

Have you tried using a different usb port?

Yes, usb 3 and usb 2, error stilll the same, Error message is telling me that the device is in use by another instance !
