Tiny holes in prints

I just received my Form 4 and I ran my first print yesterday and there are a couple of things that I want to discuss about this printer, but the first thing I would like to know is why am I getting pin holes in my prints? I used to have those in my Form 3 but usually it was because the vat was a bit old or maybe that the fact it’s a 4 years old printer. But on a brand spanking new printer I don’t find it acceptable. So any ideas would help.
It’s not the end of the world I know, it’s an easy fix but anything that could lower the after processing time it’s always helpful.

Hi @Pixelbudah,

Thank you for reaching out in our forum! Those spots definitely shouldn’t be there. My first guess is that the lens array or the film tank might be contaminated, which could be blocking the light. So inspecting the lens array and the tank would be the first thing I’d do.

I recommend contacting our service team directly, as they have more specialized knowledge on this topic. Here the link to create a ticket: customer_v2

I have the same phenomenon in always the same place on one hand of a figurine I print, although I have changed the orientation and the place on the building platform of the part (one arm and two clasping hands). The file is fine (no openings). A worse case happened with the upper body of a 120 mm figurine, where about one third of the head quite simply was not printed (NOT dropped off, I checked). When I changed the orientation and the place of that part the head was printed as it should be. I am beginning to mistrust the Form 4, to be honest. In the case of the figurine I wasted about a tenth of a liter of resin.

Hmm… that’s not good. I did look at the lens and the vat all seems good. I will do another print and see if I get the same result. Did you check if you have anything obstructing? cause I used to have those holes with the form 3 as well.
