For some reason Preform will add material to the model which throws the part out of tolerance. This always happen to holes that are smallish around 1 mm^2. If i just leave the model unsupported, the holes are left clear, but when the model is properly supported around the hole, preform will seal off the hole and add material to the model. Is there any work around to this problem where I can have a properly supported print with a small hole?
Use full raft or mini rafts and lift the part off the build platform? Also any faces pointing towards the build platform will have a poor finish. Incline the part 10°-20° for good results and minimal supports.
Can you post the part so others can offer a solution?
I only use the full raft and a height of 5mm above the raft. That should work.
@HumboldtMach, I agree with @Andrew_W, placing the model at an angle should help with this situation. Do you get the same result if you manually add the supports? Small holes can be tricky. Our agents would be happy to help you work through this. If you choose to work with one of the support agents, please make sure you provide the .form file when you open the case. That will help them get a head start on troubleshooting with you.
