Actually I have the problem since a week. I used some older resin and assumed it was due to their quality turning bad. But now i started a job with newly bought resin in an unused tank and again it fails.
i already increased diameter and amount of the support structure beyound the automatically generated.
Dirty optics or a laser that’s failing and has reduced power output. Stuff looks pretty fuzzy, like the beam is spread out, so I’d guess dirty optics. There is a cleaning procedure for the optics. I think it’s posted someplace on the website. If not, support can send it to you.
I did the optical test print. 2 of the numbered “towers” came out fine, numbers were readible, centerpiece and two other towers failed. I checked the window to te laser unit and there seems a slight foggy film on the inside…
The good news is, it’s not too hard to take apart and clean. And if the glass is fogged, odds are you’d improve overall performance by cleaning the mirrors while you’ve got the box opened up. Formlabs has instructions for how to do this. Get 'em and follow to the letter. The optics, particularly the mirrors, are easily damaged if “over aggressively” cleaned or if cleaned with the wrong materials.
