Form 3 stuck on "Filling" stage

Hello everyone!
As some others here have experienced our university Form 3 also caught the issue of being stuck on the “Filling tank with White V4 resin”.

After reading through the posts and trying all trouble shooting advises i’ve seen so far which include:

  • updating the newest firmware
  • calibrating the tank
  • calibrating the printbed
  • rebooting the printer

Sadly nothing has come out as helpful.

What i have noticed tho is that our cartridge is empty, yet the printer believes it is full with over 750ml of resin. Now i can’t replace it as it’s the last White we have and i’m stuck at waiting and hoping the error message appears which didn’t show up in the first 45+ min i tried the print before all the troubleshooting and having read one post there is a chance that due to a bug it will never appear.

My questions now sitting at nearly 8pm still in Uni when i wanted to be home by now with the finished print are:

Why is there no function like i heard of on the Form 2 where the filling tank stage could be skipped given the tank is bursting full?

Why can’t we print without a cartridge or at least tell the printer that the cartridge is empty and it has nothing to fill?

With kind regards a very tired and annoyed university student who has some regrets right now and just wishes to start the print so he can be home before midnight.

Hi @toykio ,

Sorry to hear about your frustrating experience! Let me address your questions first:

  • We always fill the tank to minimum fill level before starting a print, not more.
  • We don’t allow printing without a cartridge so we don’t risk the tank running dry during a print, which would result in a print failure or damage to the tank.

If your cartridge is empty, the printer will try to fill from it, but in vain and will throw an error message. I’m afraid there’s no way to avoid using a new cartridge if you’d like to keep using this tank.
