Hey guys, just wanted to let everyone know about this in case anyone else is having the same problems I was. I got my form 1+ about three weeks ago and for the first week it was amazing. At the beginning of the second week, I started to have numerous failed prints and eventually could not print anything more than one inch tall.
I started a ticket with support and had Melinda help me to troubleshoot the problem. We did the test print and it came out perfectly so we tried reorienting the parts I was trying to print but I had the same problem again. I ran a laser spot test on my own as it seemed like I was having the laser focus issue of many form 1’s. When the laser shined on the paper, I could see the focused dot but then a bunch of little spots all around it in circle.
I knew what it was at that point and got with Melinda to get the mirror cleaning procedure. Turns out, the galvo mirrors were pretty dusty and after cleaning them off the laser is perfect again and I am up and running. DO NOT try and clean the galvo mirrors without hearing from support as there is a specific procedure to prevent damage. Also, don’t get discouraged if you’re having trouble as it may be a little less serious than you first think.
