I’ve got a form 2. I recently had a larger resin spill that, following direction for Formlabs Support, I ended up having to remove the mainboard to clean the resin off. Now, when starting a print, it acts as though it will print the first layer, and then it stops, as if it is waiting for something to happen before it continues. It never throws up any error messages or warnings, it just sits there. I have reseated all of the connectors, and I reinstalled the most recent firmware to no avail. Any thoughts as to what might be the issue?
Hi @schaef1901,
I can’t be sure without seeing pictures of the internals, but it sounds possible that there might either still be resin pooled somewhere or that something isn’t seated totally flush. If you haven’t already follow up with Support, I think it would be a good idea to take a video of the attempted print so they can dig a little deeper.
@Corey_M
Thanks for your help thus far. I talked to a support rep who looked at my logs. She was able to find this error: PR_ERROR_GALVOS_CALIBRATION_INTERLOCK
It sounds like there are some calibration points underneath the optical window that the laser uses to calibrate after each layer. My hunch is that these calibration points are partially covered with resin, preventing calibration from happening. Would that make any sense?
Hi @schaef1901,
Although I’m not sure on the specifics of this error, we do have a guide I can share for Cleaning Extensive Resin Spills for the Form 2. With that said, I would finalize next steps via your open Support case to troubleshoot further.
