So I’m pretty sure I’ve found a bug and I’m not sure if it’s new or not (I’ll install some previous versions and see).
This issue is specific to Elastic V2. If I try to paint supports on the outside of a part with V1 it generates supports as expected. For some reason doing the same with V2 settings does something really weird.
Has anyone seen this before? I know not a lot of users here print with Elastic a lot though…
Hey @leonhart88,
Thank you for the screenshots! I’ll submit this internally to our software team. Can you share the version of PreForm you’re using?

No problem - thank you! I also submitted a support ticket. Twas a very frustrating day yesterday ![ ](https://emoji.discourse-cdn.com/twitter/confused.png?v=12)
I’m running the latest preform.
I tried all the way back to June 2024 Preform and they all behaved this way.
I also noticed similar weirdness earlier in the day when converting a V1 supported heart model into V2…so there’s definitely something wonky…and there doesn’t seem to be a way to generate supports with V1 settings and then force a print with that via V2. I can trick the Form 3L into doing this but not the 4L because it doesn’t support V1.
