Wildly Inaccurate print times

Just noticed, my FormLabs 2 print times are suddenly way off! About 50%, so the screen will be reporting < 1 minute but still with hundreds of layers to go. Prints are fine, but I have to wait another 3 hours to see them! Latest software, although I don’t think the printer has updated itself for a little while. Anything obvious I have missed? Prints are just fine, Grey V4, usually 0.05 mm or 0.025 mm layer thickness.

I’m having the same issue. It’s happened over the past month. It’s very annoying.

Thanks for sharing your experiences @EFRASCH and @TimPerry . We’re sorry your facing issues with the print time on your Form 2.
After talking it through with a services expert we suggest:

  1. Make sure you have up to date firmware on your Form 2 (see Firmware updating ).

  2. If you’re not seeing changes then we recommend “Reflashing” which is essentially reinstalling the current firmware again. This is more manual but recommended if step 1 doesn’t work for you. Steps are as follows.

  • Download the latest .formware file available to your computer.
  • Launch PreForm
  • Click the Job Setup screen
  • Click on your printer serial name
  • On the right side of the screen, click Firmware Update. The Firmware Update screen will appear.
  • Click Custom and upload the formware file.
  • Complete the reinstallation by following the prompts on the printer’s touchscreen.
  • Attempt to start a print

Hi, for the record, we were running the latest firmware. I reflashed the firmware again with the downloaded version, but we are still having the issue.

Me too. After factory reset and updating to latest firmware, actually already running but updated anyway in case of corruption, but no difference. Software estimates 10 hours, machine displays 6, time runs down to <1 min while still at 1000 layers, and the build does indeed eventually take 10 hours…

Just been advised FormLabs 2 no longer supported, use the software estimate, and would I like to buy a Form 4…

Ah well.
