Removal of alternative support presets

I can see that you can still download these presets but I’m just curious why they were removed from the software in June update. Were they deemed to be functionally unsuccessful at all?

Hi hterry,

Thanks for the question. The alternative support presets were removed starting in PreForm 3.60 after an internal evaluation. Usage turned out to be extremely low, and in some cases the presets were contributing to print failures. So we decided to remove them from Preform and move them to a support article.

You can still download them here:

They’ll download as a .fps file, which you can import into PreForm using these instructions. Once imported, they’ll show up as an additional support setting card you can select during job setup.
