Today, all Supports V2-based print settings for Grey Resin V5 disappeared from Job Setup.
Earlier today, I was using:
Form 4
Grey Resin V5
25 µm
Reduced Density (Alpha) V2.0
Later, when I returned to PreForm, all Supports V2 options for Grey Resin V5 were gone.
My current version is:

It says supports v1 but i see settings for supports v2 what the hell is going on here
why update the software? once it works for you leave it that way the same applies for Firmware I received a 4L yesterday Preform 3.60.3.641, build date 2026-07-14 14:07 UTC
It’s working as intended and I disabled automatic updates probably never update neither of them.
Hi @pkwietniak, thanks for your message! The support presets like the “Reduced density” settings were removed from PreForm to ensure a leaner experience, but they can still be downloaded from here.

Hey Sophie, thank you, but before this change I was using:
Supports 2.0 Smaller Touchpoints (Beta) and
Supports 2.0 Reduced Density (Alpha).
The links you provided only contain Smaller Touchpoints and Reduced Density for Supports 1.0, plus the regular Supports 2.0 Default preset, as far as I can tell.
It is really hard for me to see this as making the experience “leaner”. Right now I don’t even know exactly which settings my existing projects are using. I have hundreds of models already set up, and this change has made things extremely confusing for me. It is especially frustrating that these presets were removed from saved projects where they were already actively being used.
For example, one of my projects where every model was set up using Supports 2.0 Reduced Density (Alpha) now shows this:
If I start a new project and select the regular Supports 2.0 print setting, I get what appear to be the same values, but without the arrows indicating modified/non-default values:
So I genuinely don’t understand what is happening here now. Which settings is my old project actually using? Is it still using the old Reduced Density Alpha configuration, partially using it, or has it been converted to something else?
More importantly, how can I make sure I continue using the exact settings I was happy with and already used successfully for 100+ models?
I really don’t want to start guessing at support settings after finding a configuration that was working extremely well for me.

To give a bit more detail:
Basically, I was using my own print settings. I only changed a few small things while experimenting, such as AA on/off and enabling Coarse Early Layers.
I was using this settings with both normal and insider version of preform Currently :
What is strange is that I’m pretty sure that even when I was already on a PreForm version newer than the one that supposedly removed the support presets, I could still see all of the presets for both V1 and V2 supports while using my own print settings.
Then a few days ago, I don’t even think the PreForm build number changed, and suddenly all of the V2 presets disappeared. I can still see all three presets for V1.
If I open an already saved project where I was using my custom print settings together with the Supports V2 Reduced Density preset, I still see the same three V1 presets in the list, but the currently selected preset is some kind of V2 support preset even though it no longer appears in that list.
When i start new project an pick my settings i cant use supports v2 but can see all v1 presets on the list .
When i downlaod supports 2 preset i see this:
So these are basically the same settings I have in my bugged saved project, just without the arrows indicating that I modified some values(and i didnt changed anything there other than disabling internal supports. it was somehow converted into this). Because of that, I’m honestly not sure whether the saved project is still using the Reduced Density Alpha preset, or whether it has somehow fallen back to the default Supports V2 settings.
I’d really love to at least keep access to all of the V2 presets when using my own saved print settings. Alternatively, please make all of the Supports V2 presets available to download, or perhaps keep them available in the Insider version of PreForm.
It feels especially strange that saved projects can still use these presets, but there is no way to select them for new projects anymore.
What puzzles me is that I can see you are adding Supports V2 again for some resins, like Black:
So why couldn’t you keep it for Grey V5 as a separate setting, clearly marked as beta? I don’t really understand how removing it helps anyone or provides a leaner experience.
Hi! Sorry for all the confusion around the Presets. Nearly all the Presets that were available in Preform can be downloaded using this mapping.
But you’ve flagged a bug in the system when opening older .form files that were saved with a different Preset selected. The UI when importing older .form files should be consistent with the selections so this is unintended behavior.
Everything is working fine now.
I deleted my old settings and I am using the newly downloaded one without any issues.
