I have two formlab3, and I’m printing something quite big on both of them. but one of the printer made a consecutive two fail prints while the other one managed to print it perfectly. I did a clean mesh and cleaned the metal support properly before hand so I don’t know where the problem can come from?
Any idea? before those pring there had been nearly no failed print on this one…
Thanks for reaching out! I’d love to help, but I’ll need a bit more information to pinpoint the issue. Could you share any photos or screenshots of the failed prints? That would help us understand what might be going wrong.
In the meantime, could you also submit a support ticket here? Our team can take a closer look at your printer’s logs and help troubleshoot the issue more thoroughly.
See enclosed the photo of the problem. it started well but didn’t fiish it corectly. It was able to print it corectly on the Formlab 3L, and initially on one of our formlab 3 but then wasn’t able to print it again. tried on both formlab3. could it be the size of the print?
Is that the firmware used when the prints were successful or failed? What I’m trying to help figure out is if you updated PreForm or the Firmware in between prints.
For example, if you were on an older PreForm and it printed fine, but after updating to a newer version it failed, I would go back to the version it worked on.
Thanks for the update and the photo. Based on what I can see, it’s possible that the issue could be a blowout as a result of cupping. This happens when air or resin gets trapped during the print, and different printers can experience different peel forces depending on the resin and tank conditions. Re-orienting the part or adding drain holes could help fix that if it’s the cause. Drain holes can now be added directly in PreForm.
If you’d like, I’d be happy to take a look at the .form file if you can upload that here.
