Preform Clean Install

Is there a process for doing a clean install of Preform? By “clean install”, I mean uninstalling ever trace of Preform on my PC and then reinstalling it.

The reason I ask is that I’m having an issue with failures during the firmware update dialogue to my Form 3 on one Win 11 PC (#1). Firmware updates work fine on another Win 11 PC (#2) with the same version of Preform. So, I assume there is something corrupted in the Preform installation on PC #1. I have already done the standard uninstall then reinstall, but that didn’t correct the issue. A lot of Windows apps leave registry entries and files on the PC after a standard uninstall. Doing a clean install is one more thing I’m trying to do to correct the issue.

Hi, you can try removing the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Formlabs\PreForm folder in your registry, that contains all your settings.

I had the same problem updating from 3.49 to 3.54, the automatic update was not possible and unistall and install was a nightmare: installation package preform-86229f6886.msi

AFTER Using the REVO uninstaller app this problem was solved, too much redundancies in the register keys and app data folders….
