Others have noted as have I that the tall thin supports sometimes warp break and flex during a print. This sometimes results in defective prints. Use an alternate support structure based on a triangular hollow truss member like a crane or antenna tower. These structures use very little material however they are very rigid and strong. Essentially the support is a web of these towers that are very thin with cross members interconnecting them. This would form a very rigid structure being open so that it can drain properly and stiff easy to resist the peel forces. Here is an example compared to the current structure. The volume of the truss structure is slightly less then the current structure so there would be no material usage penality.
