To all fellow fuse users, My fuse 1 has 4500 hours in. It was pre owned by one of the only 2 country resellers and I received it nov 24 with ~1300 hours.
It was maintained before delivery, RTD, upper window, filters, full cleaning etc.
I was given a set of quartz tubes.
The machine is working great, I conduct regular maintenance and so far only z axis motor needed change and it was under warranty april last year.
But today while I cleaned the upper window at the 1000 hours mark I noticed some I believe normal wear, but I think someone more seasoned can assist me. Also my IR sensor has some sort of damege on the lens, but i’m not experiencing any weird issue except some occasional underdosing but more from high humidity or too old powder. Clearly not asking neither of the 2 resellers because if this machine had only 1300 hours by nov 24 and it was in use for 2 years, I think you get that they are not technical experts…
I just checked one of my 1+ with 5k hours and the meta plate behind the upper window looks clean so not sure why yours is like that but I do not see why that would be a problem. In terms of the IR sensor that does look pretty bad. Typically you should swap it out even with the lightest scratch but I have also kept going while things work. As soon as they stop working you probably will need a new IR sensor. It is a little hard to tell in the picture but the rubber gasket on the cone looks like it may be damaged or not seated correctly at the 10 and 11 oclock side. This could also lead to issues with the IR sensor if the air isn’t flowing and keeping the sensor clean through printing.
We have a Fujifilm X1 camera whose lens developed similar patterns. When we took it to a service centre, we were told that it was fungal growth, so I am making an educated guess that this could be the same issue.
High humidity creates an ideal environment for fungus to grow. It happens quite often in camera equipment, although it is usually more visible on a lens.
The image below shows fungal growth on a camera lens, and the pattern looks similar.
I do not want to cause unnecessary concern, and I may be mistaken, but I think it would be advisable to have the sensor inspected thoroughly by a qualified technician.
Thanks for the useful data! Yes sometimes we have issues with high humidity I’m ordering a replacement sensor. and will try to inspect this one througly.
