Missing cleaning reqs

So since the last firmware update. I noticed that several service intervall notifications are missing, such as IR sensor cone and IR Sensor. Are we supposed to not clean those anymore or what?

In future maintenance i cannot see any of them.

But in the reminders slider i can see IR Sensor. Not Sensor Cone.

So whats up?

Good Morning.

It was removed with the latest firmware update, you are correct. This step should be done before or after every print, so it was removed on this part of the printer. We recommend still following this guide for maintenance.

Thanks for the heads up. Could have saved me the time going here to ask about it.

How hard is it to release patchnotes with the latest changes? Im gonna answer that for you, apparently extremely difficult.

Thank you for sharing that feedback. I am going to pass this along to our team as something that we should prioritize with the next firmware update.

Patch notes are for companies that respect it’s customers.

Main reason I don’t update firmware on machines. Once you start working and it works leave it like that, despite new functions. They will do everything to make old machines unusable and force customers to upgrade.

To be clear, we are supposed to use the mirror and swabs to wipe down the cone leading to the IR sensor between every print?

“if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it”

@CARobertM Our recommendation is to inspect and clean this between every print, yes. This part of the printer is a key part to having print success and if there is any buildup here, taking the few minutes to clean is worth the amount of money you will save by not having print failures.

I must have missed the message from formlabs about the updated workflows since acquiring our machine.

The machine reminds you to clean the sensor and cone when you prime for the next print..

Same here, the field tech who visits ut once a year has specifically told me to not over clean stuff as its wears it down. Now these suggestions comes along.
