Fuse 1+ Error 63

I have a Fuse 1+ that is currently running Nylon 12. My current PreForm version is 3.50.2.555 and the printer is on Firmware 1.21.1. I intend to update PreForm and the printer firmware soon. The printer is on a non-internet connected network that is isolated from the company network.

I initiated a temperature calibration print yesterday before I left for the day. I downloaded the appropriate file for the material and firmware I am running and zeroed the previous temperature offset. I do still have X/Y/Z and doser offsets in place. I came in this morning to find the printer idle after only printing, what appears to be, a single layer. The printer display displayed ‘Error 63’. I searched the errors list and it doesn’t list 63 as an option. If the printer is going to display this error message under some circumstances, it should be documented along with the rest of the errors.

I’m not sure what caused my print failure, yet, but I intend to update the firmware and PreForm before downloading the newer temperature calibration routine. If anyone has a good theory as to why I experienced this failure, I’m all ears!

Hi @aries4life ,

Réka from Formlabs Support here. The error code indicates that the printer failed to execute the test, most likely because the firmware needs an update. Please start with that and try again. Should you still have issues after that, please open a support case, my colleagues will be able to help you further.

Thanks for the response. I have updated PreForm and the firmware. I downloaded the appropriate file for the material and firmware version and started the test print. I will update here with the outcome.

@aries4life Thank you for posting about your Error 63. This error has not been seen very often, which is why it’s not a public document. From the information you have provided, it’s possible that you sent the print as a Form 1, not Form 1+. We’d love to have you open a support ticket for this so we can track it as well, especially since this isn’t an error we see.

Not likely. File name ‘Fuse1P_Tuning_Print_Nylon12.flz’ downloaded from https://downloads.formlabs.com/fuse/Fuse1P_Tuning_Print_Nylon12.flz

It may be that it is a bad link. If you reference this document page; customer_v2 I believe the links for Fuse 1+ tuning files for the two different firmware scenarios links to the same file. You may want to have someone look at that.
