Form 4L Print Shrinkage

We work in the aerospace industry and are printing molds. We have fairly tight tolerances to adhere to and noticed significant bowing during the curing process of the high temp v2 resin. Is there a way to overcome the bowing?

Just to know, have you followed all guidelines for fabrication and for post-processing?

Washing, drying and cure times.

The parts were cured at 60 degrees Celsius for 60 minutes after washing them for 20 minutes in IPA. I have not found any procedures for dry time in between wash and cure. I have seen comments in other posts about allowing 24 hours in between however.

Yup that is like the standard rules, would love to see what others say and what support suggest. It’s been a while since the last time I worked with HT resin, but will get back for Thermoforming soon, so any interesting information will be very useful for everyone.

@Airtronicsusers Welcome to the Formlabs Community Forum! As pointed out by @Mario_Martinez, ensuring that your parts are completely dry prior to post-curing is a great way to prevent part swelling and warping. Drying times will largely depend on your workspace’s humidity and the wash solvent being used. This being said, using a fan or compressed air is a good way to speed the drying process up.

Additionally, post-curing parts with the supports still attached is another great way to prevent parts from warping. This is especially helpful for thin and flat parts. If you’re still running into troubles with this, our support team would be happy to help! You can reach out to them via email or phone here.

I’m thinking the video @leonhart88 is supposedly going to make should help with reducing warping

A mi también me ha pasado que se han deformado bastante las piezas en el proceso de curado.
¿Queréis decir que puede ser por que no estuvieran aún secas del todo después de lavarlas?
Gracias!! Estoy aprendiendo.

Indeed! Check out @leonhart88’s latest warping insights here: Post cure warp in SLA linked to insufficient drying
