Alignment Shifting in the middle of printing?

Twice in the last week I have had prints that are missing parts seemingly because the printer suddenly went out of alignment (notice the leg of the minotaur in the first photo).

What could cause this? And how do I keep it from happening again?

Hi @Dennistro! Its possible that your Form 3 is due for its x-axis maintenance (see the full schedule of maintenance here). Over time, the anti-backlash nut on the printer wears down, and can leave debris along the x-axis lead screw. This can lead to print failures and abnormal noises due to an increase in friction during printer movement.

If you haven’t given it a try yet, I recommend doing so. We recently released a process video on the Formlabs Support Youtube channel for this maintenance, so I hope you find it helpful!
