After doing many changes to a model for print-ability and for cleaning ease it would be nice to not be stuck with the base stl filename on the base. We should be able to change this adding version numbers, date of printing etc. Right now I would have to re lead the model with a different name and do all the work over again. Please add a field for custom base label.
I get around this naming issue by naming the file properly before loading, then save form file. Make a copy to be renamed V2 , for example, then open it and make changes since you are essentially changing the original and able to save as a revised model. You can repeat this however many times is needed. This also gives you a proper collection of revisions to go back and forth with for testing.
This. On top of the fact that renaming the STL file is easy, it is also good practice since it will generate a history of .form files with the different orientation that have been tested.
@James_Kathrein as of our last major release (2.15.0 on Feb. 20), you can now change the text in the Base Label. Basically just right click on the model and go into the new “Object Properties” menu (more details here: https://support.formlabs.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000015850-Advanced-Support-Structure-Settings#base-label)
