4L Exposure Calibration?

Hello,

I printed a the ‘cones of calibration’ to test my current settings on the 4L. A certain portion of this calibration model fails (the cones collapse). According to the documentation, I need to adjust the exposure settings. I am admittedly new to this, but I don’t see any documenting for exposure calibrating on the 4L. Is that something that is possible?

From the website (linked below):
Details: The Cones are divided into a success side and a failure side. The success cones should print fully, while the failure cones are designed to collapse. This difference in outcomes helps you assess whether your printer’s exposure settings are correctly balanced.

If you are new to resin 3D printing as a whole I would not start diving down the rabbit hole of adjusting print settings right away. Learn the ins and outs of supporting and orientation to get the most out of what you have initially. Formlabs printers come with validated print profiles for each resin to maximize the odds of successful prints.

With that said, the print settings editor is what you are looking for.

Thanks. I understand that I am jumping in the deep end for this—but I had some detailed portions architectural models that weren’t printing so I wanted to determine if it was on me (most likely), or if it was a setting that needed to be tweaked on the 4L. That’s why I downloaded a calibration model to help determine if it was my modeling or the printer settings.

Hi @anordstrom, you can find details on how to use the Print Settings Editor to modify the exposure settings in this support article. If you’re experiencing specific print issues with your model, feel free to seek assistance from the community in the Support & Troubleshooting category of the forum or to contact our support team.
Hope this helps!
