I don’t see the need for this. Thingiverse already allows arbitrary file types to be included in a file upload. Why fracture model sharing communities even further? Aside from this, OnShape provides a great platform for sharing models, since the CAD features are all built-in.
I strongly urge Formlabs to focus their efforts on more valuable projects or improvements. For example, I’m tired of rebuilding support structures just because I had to make some very minor feature change in my model. I can’t possibly see how another file sharing network is going to be a greater value for me than fixing workflow issues, such as this.
