I tried post UV curing a couple of clear resin parts that were rather soft after the ISOp. bath. We use UV curing equipment for photo-polymer adhesives so I tried our machine with the clear resin parts. However they turned yellow on the side that was closest to the light source. Is there a specific UV range that will not yellow the parts? I’ve noticed this also happens parts when exposed to sunlight after a week or 2.
This is normal and unfortunately a resin issue. You will notice that thicker parts right off the printer have a yellow hue to them. The longer they are exposed to uv the yellower they become. Your best bet is to limit exposure and then coat with a clear uv blocking spray paint.
Thank you David, I’ll try the spray or even a dip coating to see which method works best for the parts I print.
