Tough resin V3 part removal

I’m using form2, mostly (95%) printing tough resin, now actually V3

Wonder if a brass build platform instead of aluminum would make the difference for the resins that stick too much? Has anyone tried this?

Another use here with Tough V3 issues. I spent 30 min coaxing the print off (lift edge, squirt isopropyl under edge, let sit… ) When I took off a print on Friday in a hurry I had a shattered mess that was hard to remove. We use a lot of black, grey, and some tough v2, and those are much better.

When removing the parts off the build platform I use the spru cutters and lay them flat against the platform and snip under the base. Larger prints I work my way around. Doesn’t this work on the Tough resin?

Another thought is to take a jewelers saw and just saw off the part from the base and deal with the base on the support after.
I use a jewelers saw to remove my base from the part to make it easier to get at the supports.

To update on my Tough V3 issue.

After working with support, I will need to slightly heat my build platform to soften the rafts so they are removable. I originally heated the part, raft, and build platform too much and the raft, supports, and I believe the part softened a bit too much. I need to practice a bit. The build platform doesn’t need to be hot. Just enough so the raft bends and comes up.

@KenCitron, It doesn’t work for me with Tough V3. The rafts are cured where they shatter every 1/8" where I have to chisel them off. The saw will only make it so the part is not destroyed in the raft removal process.

This is where heating the build platform does help. I was skeptical but it really did work. I recommend anyone else having issues like mine to get in touch with support. They can assist and they should be made aware of anyone having similar issues as me.

Rather than shatter anything you could try to saw the part off the support base while the part is fresh. This would make removing the supports themselves easier because they are easier to get to.

Heating is a good idea, I have used a heat gun to soften some parts to help reduce any chipping (ie tapping threads). I would imagine it would help in removing the support base.

Thank you so much. That did the trick! My last large print came off perfectly.

I have adjusted the z offset up .2mm and it worked perfectly. Thanks for all the input.
