I have a form 3 with a dead SOM, form have failed to provide a replacement SOM.
I know there is claims around calibrations specific to machines, but im willing to try anything at this point, so if you have a faulty form 3 which still powers and boots, but does not otherwise work for whatever reason, I would like to buy the SOM so i can try resurrect my machine.
I will pay for shipping too.
based in sydney.
@JaredReabow It looks like you’re in the process of getting a SOM. I know that there have been some delays due to the holidays. I hope that we can get this resolved for you sooner rather than later.
Replacing the SOM from a different printer may work; however, because the calibration data from the previously used printer will then be on your printer, you may have issues printing. I know that waiting for the SOM from us has been a long process, but it truly is the best way to repair this printer.
@JaredReabow did Formlabs sort you out or make you pay an extraordinary amount for a new SOM which they had but didnt have? My Form3B has just stopped working and was told a new motherboard is the only option but they dont have them anymore and I should spend $7600 on a new amazing Form4B…
Do you have any other diagnostics I can do to try figure out which $0.1c resistor I should check to make my $3600 machine work again instead of being a paperweight?
Hey @Fromanza and @JaredReabow I am on the same boat and I’ve managed to get more clarity on what was broken on my machine. because this is a longer topic I am writing an article Debricking a Formlabs Form 3+: SOM failure and black screen of no boot — wemakerobots.com but there is hope.

@jasques - I am waiting in hope! The sum total that Formlabs did was to send me recycling information as to how I could place my pristine 5 year old machine into the bin…
