Sift Flippy flappy funnel for sift and other questions

Hey people, we were sent a flappy funnel for a fuse sift for new powder I worry about contamination (clasp broke already when I was testing it’s durability). Does anyone (including Formlab staff) use this? I still fill via original hole.

Yes I hear you saying bags are terrible, I agree but still this is what we got. Does everyone clean out sift after every use? Do you vacuum the Build chamber inner walls do you grease chain at back of Fuse?

I was also concerned about the tolerances in the flippy flappy funnel lid, so the first thing I did was apply foam weather stripping to the perimeter of lid. It is not perfect but it is better than stock.
I only vacuum the working area of the sift after each session. The hoppers get done once per 12 months or when the hopper are truly empty, So about 4-6 times per year. The hoppers are inspected regularly as the sensors get cloudy and need a wipe frequently.
The build chamber inner walls are done only per 12 months before I re-lube the screw.

I’d stick to the original fill hole. Clean the sift after each use, vacuum the chamber walls and lightly grease the chain to prevent buildup.

Yours looks different to mine. Mine is made from Nylon PA12. Good idea on the foam. Yes those hopper sensors especially the waste one. Thanks for replying.

Mine is molded. You should be able to request the first free one with the first bag order.
