Adding Fresh Powder to Fuse Sift: Questions

I’m going to try a different approach to the powder bag situation and pose some questions to Formlabs:

  1. How should the powder bag be cut/opened?
  2. How should the powder bag be stored?
  3. What “tool with a built-in dispenser, such as a bird seed scoop” do you use/recommend?
  4. Should the inside of the powder funnel be vacuumed or just the exterior?

I think everyone has shared their displeasure with the powder bags enough (me included), so please don’t reply with complaints, let’s try to keep this productive!

Me personally, I don’t stress too much about the area around the funnel. I don’t want FOD in there, but a tiny bit of used powder is nothing to worry about IMO.

It will be interesting to see what the official answer to these questions is. I’ve moved on with stressing over the bags, with a procedure that works for me and does not make a mess. Id say most users have likely done the same.

Hi! Thanks for writing in your exact workflow questions!

You might have already seen this in other threads, but we released a video guide on how to use the powder bags today. It should cover most of your questions - let us know if anything is left unclear!
As for vacuuming the powder funnel, just the outside is fine for cleaning the workspace. When changing materials, all areas would need to be vacuumed.
I hope this helps!

Thanks @Sophia_M!

Do you have a recommended scoop? I’m having trouble finding any good options with a built-in dispenser.

You don’t necessarily need a scoop, but as an optional aid, one of our service specialists suggested using something like this - although this scoop is originally meant for a different purpose of course.
