Requesting the ability to set a default printerin Preform. The current version of Preform defaults to Form 4 which we do not have and requires manual intervention every time we start a new print job, for which we have to wait for minutes before we can start to work on setting up printing.
Hahaha I know people wouldn’t care this because I just saw a previous thread
I want to update the issue. The issue is not as simple as just to change the printer: as the Form 4 only has setting of 0.05 mm while Form 3 and below have 0.1 mm and 0.05 mm, when I change the printer the step will not change automatically. Consequently, my printing job was by default done by 0.05 mm for Rigid 10K, and thanks to the high failure rate of 0.05 mm the print failed and ruined my tank. Now I have to pause and buy a tank. I think this is not a proper way if you just want to promote Form 4. Thank you so much!
Has anyone found a resolution to this issue? I have to go in and manually pick my form 3 printer every time I start preform. I have gotten somewhat used to doing it but it has been frustrating to support and slice a model only to find you didn’t have your 1 and only printer defaulted to by the software.
Maybe someday it will just default to the last printer used. I feel like it did that before the Form 4 release. Might be misremembering. I only have one so that would solve it for me.
Hi, PreForm should always remember the last used printer and print settings. Recently a bug causes it to pick something else during startup in some cases. We are sorry about that and we are working on a fix which will come in a future release.
