Our lab is looking into fine tuning our print settings for both speed and accuracy. I’ve been looking into and considering modifying the squish settings as the Formlabs defaults seem to be excessive in some areas. For example, the default custom squish wait time (at least for precision model v1) is 20 seconds. Am I to understand its waiting a full 20 seconds to print between layers just to allow the resin to settle? That seems excessive and adds up a lot over a full print, is this amount of time necessary? Could I get away with cutting in half or less? Just trying to ball park the best place to start testing to avoid multiple unnecessary failed print clean ups.
Did you ever try any shorter settings? Also, with it being precision model resin, they want to be sure the resin is not moving around to get the most precise model possible. It is definitely less for other resins, especially draft, etc. You could set up a model in different resins just to see what the squish wait times are.
