Just wanting to know if anyone has found a way around the lack of usb-c ports on the back of the printer for printing offline whilst using the resin pump. As far as I can tell the only way is to unplug the pump, plug a cable from your computer in, upload the job, and then switch the cables back to the pump. Surely there is a better way.
Hi @AIMtech
officially: Unfortunately no.
In reality: Yes, there is a way.
It is a bit finicky, but you can use a two-port powered USB C Hub. We’ve tried a couple that had more ports and found that it usually saps too much power from the pump and it stops working reliably.
This model is what the US team recommends, if you’re in the EU and you find one with similar specs, that should work. If you find a working one, please do share what model you used so we can expand the list.
On a sidenote: Do you just want the printer to not be connected to the internet or do you specifically want to use a USB connection to the printer?
An alternative could be a little cheap WiFi router that you connect the computer and the printer to and upload prints that way while you do not have a network attached to said router. A couple of our customers in the industry who need their printers to be airgapped do this.
Kind regards
Jakob
