I was pondering the best way to basically print a 1 inch by 3 inch rectangular object? with a flattened side to it. NOTE i may have ornimentation around the rounded sides which if it sticks out might require support… but NOTE i’m gonna sand down the “flat side” sooooo can i literally just print these on the build platform…(thinking build platform 2) would be a great idea so that i don’t have to contend with prying a welded part off the v1 platform…
I would rather not do this at an angle unless i need to… or vertical unless there is no other way…
That seems to be pretty straightforward, where is the question? With the axis perpendicular to the build platform, this will print just fine. You don’t need to sand anything either, the flat side will print as is…
so what orientation are you talking about? I’m talking about putting it on the build plate and not necessarily needing supports not vertical but horizontal.

You should be able to print this part directly on the build platform by orienting the long flat surface downwards.
Cool that was what i thought… i wanted to be sure. I suspect that using the Platform 2 will be a good idea so i have a chance of getting these off and released… Last time i did a flat piece with a bunch of surface area on the original build plate it was like its was glued on… and almost destroyed the piece trying to free it.
