I have some bug fix requests for the UI behavior within the support menu. Some days I spend upwards of 4 hours in this menu, and all these little bugs become incredibly tedious and annoying to work around.
I’d like to request that the support settings (including Support Structure Settings) be saved to the project file. This would hopefully help avoid the following annoying UI behaviors and issues.
Needing to re-configure all the support settings every time you load a project file.
Needing to re-configure generated support settings seemingly randomly when you enter support menu or come out of manual support mode.
Needing to re-configure manual support settings seemingly randomly when you go in and out of manual mode.
This last one is extra annoying when you are going in and out of manual support placement just to save your progress. While you are at it, let us save the file from inside the manual editing interface. The software crashes so often I waste enough time generating supports so I can save every 3 min.
The undo button to return individual fields to the defaults is sufficient.
The auto placement category check box behavior is not functioning correctly. Sometimes the checkboxes are unchecked, but they are highlighted and get generated. I end up checking and unchecking as a work around and then re-generating a 3rd time. Very time consuming.
Please make support generation button actually work when you change a support structure dimension (like Pillar Diameter). I should not have to add/remove a support placement just to force the program to re-generate pillars when you click the generate structure button.
Manual Placement Touchpoint Brush Radius has to be adjusted every time you enter manual mode for it to be the displayed size. Same with Spacing. When you first load in, the behavior does not correlate to the settings.
