Greetings,
I have a couple of problems with my recent prints.
Using: Grey V4.1 in Formlabs 3B printer, Default settings, 0.100 thickness.
The first couple of versions of this part came out OK and were somewhat flexible.
But when I was happy with the design and printed multiple parts, the parts are extremely difficult to remove from the platform and very brittle. The parts were sitting on the platform overnight until I came in to remove them for post-processing. I only washed them in Isopropyl Alcohol and didn’t cure.
Would you tilt this part to reduce main surface adhesion? Different settings? Platform prep tips?
I only recently started using Formlabs, so any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Grey v4.1 isn’t intended to be a flexible resin. There may be some give to the part, but it won’t tolerate a lot of flex prior to fracture like Tough1k-2k or Durable would.
Was there any change to the cure method between the first trials and the later ones? That could explain the perceived flexibility difference.
If these parts are being printed directly on the platform, a flexible platform would eliminate the adhesion issue. Adding a raft would as well but then you’ll have to do some sanding on the bottom face. You could also consider filleting the bottom edge slightly to try and allow you to get a pry bar underneath (paint scraper, plastic scraper etc), but that may have limited success as well.

Thank you for the advice. Can I put parts on a build platform into the curing machine?
Do you think they will release after cure?
Not recommended. Parts should be removed from the platform prior to UV curing, either before or after washing. Excess resin potentially cured to the platform could damage tank films or affect subsequent prints.
