Hello everyone, I have a Formlabs Form 2 printer and I have the following printing problem. When printing a phone holder, after printing about half the height of the model, the print is missing in some places. Then when printing a laptop holder, it contained triangular holes used to connect sections together, but these holes did not print at all, but were completely filled with resin. I use the “Liqcreate universal resin black”, and I printed both on the predefined settings by PreForm and also in Open Mode. I am attaching photos of the models in PreForm and what it looks like after printing. Has anyone of you had a similar problem?
I would like to add that I am a beginner in resin printing, so I apologize for my lack of knowledge.
I can also say that I try a lot of support configuration.
Thanks in advance.
Hi @maciek998
Thank you for reaching out.
From what I can see in these pictures you’re suffering from two distinct issues (Surface Roughness and Volume Explosions) which both can be attributed to a contamination in the optical pathway, causing the laser spot to be misshapen and not enough laser energy hitting the resin in the first place.
From how uniformly spread out the surface roughness is, I’d say the contamination is somewhat earlier in the optical pathway, my guess would be main mirror or maybe galvanometer mirrors.
You can find the guides for these following this link.
Let us know how it goes!
Kind regards,
Jakob
