How do I know much resin a print will require?

Hello I am a student who is designing and printing parts for a project. Before we start printing, the professor would like us to have an estimate how much it will cost to print. My plan was to see how much resin, in mL, a print will require and use it to estimate the cost of the print. Is there a way for me to see how much resin the part will require in the PreForm slicer?

Edit: once you select the material, add the model you want to print, orient and support the model, Preform will automatically give you a required resin volume readout on the right side of the UI under the printer information tab like I circled in red here. It’s good enough to do a school project of estimating cost with.

My computer is in Japanese and Preform defaulted to that language wise. The cat model is not designed by me; I think I pulled it off of a free online file repository I do not remember from years ago. I did get it to print however albeit with some imperfections.

No, it’s all good; I think most people would get the gist of it even if they cannot read Japanese.

I only commented because I was curious and don’t see work from many other regions other than the U.S.

Very cool…what is your major, @iniroula51, if you don’t mind me asking? I wish they had had this kind of program when I was in school.

Over the 8 or so years that I’ve had a Formlabs printer, I’ve interacted with users all over the world. It’s kind of fun when you realize we’re all connected by a piece of technology. Cheers!
