Form 4 Question about the Mixer

Hello everyone,
I’m quite new to 3D printing and I am about to do my first print with my Form4.
A question came up: What does the mixer have to mix?

Welcome to 3D printing and congrats on your first print with the Form 4! The wiper’s job is to keep the resin in the tank well-mixed throughout the printing process, since some resins can settle or separate over time, and the wiper helps ensure consistent material properties during the print. This is especially important with materials that have additives, like pigments or fillers, which can settle out of the liquid resin. By moving through the tank periodically, the wiper redistributes the resin and helps prevent separation, which ensures your print quality remains high from start to finish.

It also helps distribute the heating of the resin tank evenly and plays a role in maintaining an even resin level in the tank, preventing the buildup of cured resin on the bottom of the tank, which can sometimes happen if the resin isn’t circulating properly.

Lastly, Form 4’s wiper has debris detection so it can detect if a print has failed/stuck to the tank film, or if your Build Platform is dirty, preventing something from puncturing your tank. Let me know if you have any more questions!
