Form 3 - Story Time... help!

Hello, my name’s Harri. Long term, super user of Form 3’s here. I have a story I can’t seem to finish.

Trying to keep this as short as possible. I have/had 2 broken Form 3+ machines which I put together to create one working machine.

Machine 1
Error code 56, even after preform updates, reinstall, machine updates, machine resets and fresh a ribbon cable. I suspect this is due to a big resin spill from a previous owner. ITS STICKY, EVERYWHERE. Electrical faults I assume. Also a very sad sounding tensioner motor.

Machine 2
Long standing work horse. Suspect clicking noise during printing which made many beds fail. Formlabs thought it was X-axis, nope. Sounds very mechanical, maybe tensioner, which is a big NO NO from Formlabs. I’m also holding the LPU as a suspect, anyone ever had a clicky one of them? The click starts slow and then speeds up as the layer is printed - causes it to fail after a few manic, clicky layers.

So, I take the motherboard, looming, LPU w/ribbon cable and tensioner, from Machine 2 and put it into Machine 1, re-soldering the tensioner in place. Where I have solved the Error 56! But alas, the CLICKY NOISE RETURNS! And! In a different machine body! I thought it was mechanical but the only 2 things I moved over was the LPU and tensioner stepper. Even writing this, I’m going to try with Machine 1’s LPU but I swear to the printing gods if the error code comes back, I’m teaching it how to fly.

Any thoughts? As always, this is when a big printing job has come in and I need the machine working… loosing my mind!
