Form 2 Z-Axis Grinding- Very Loud

See the video of the grinding noise here. Make sure you watch the end where the stage moves up, that’s where the worst grinding noise happens.

Should I try to replace the motor? What do you think the issues stem from?

Hi @websternaw,

I would recommend Lubricating the Form 2 lead screw if you have not done so already. If this doesn’t help, getting in touch with Support and sharing this video would be the best bet for further guidance.

Hi Jesse,
The Z-screw lubrication is not the issue. I followed these steps already.
The issue stems from bad bearings in the top of the motor. I was able to confirm that the bearings either need to be replaced, or the motor needs to be replaced completely. Something must have gotten into the top of the motor and contaminated the bearings.
What are the next steps?
