Durable becomes yellow

Hi,

I’ve been testing the durable resin for a week now and first thing I notice is that the beautiful prints turn yellow when cured.
I wash the parts 20min and rinse down with fresh IPA, blow dry the parts thoroughly, use the recommend cure setting 60min at 60deg.
Is there something I should do differently?

I have the same issue and question.

Hello @Mr_Solissa which version of durable resin are you using? I also use durable but they turn just a little bit green. Could you share a picture of these parts?

I wash them with the Formlabs Wash Solution.

I’m using Durable V2.1, I don’t have parts I can share currently due to parts being under development.

If there is some space left I can try to print something i’m able to share if needed.

Good Morning!

Durable does get a bit of a yellow hue after being cured. This is normal for Durable V2.1. I would recommend that you let the parts dry for at least 30 minutes at room temp and then if you still see some IPA on the parts, then blowdry.

If you would like to share photos with us here, I can tell you if the amount of yellowing is normal. If you cannot share publicly , please feel free to open a support ticket here.

I’m seeing similar behavior (see photo) - which seems different than the images Durable resin parts shown in the online store. They appear to have very little tint.

Are my results typical? Are those store images of uncured parts?

Thanks for the help,

Rob

This is exactly what I see as well, sometimes a little bit more yellowing (but this can also depend on how you take your picture).

@KCasey I will try the technique you described this week.

I face the same situation, the part that I highlighted is a little bit “clearer”, in this case I just cured the part for 10 min instead of 30 min, on the other hand this part is softer.

Just a quick note, thinner parts will appear less colored, same principles with shallow vs deep water. I’d say that circled part is pretty on par with the others.

Awesome point @henryqiu this make total sense. I’ll cure one of these thinner parts for 30 min to see the results. Thank you

@Mr_Solissa The yellowing is normal for Durable Resin. Depending on the part’s thickness, it can be more or less yellow. I hope that helps answer your question.

It does answer one question, my second question is: how do you cure your Durable samples?
Because my parts are thinner than the sample (around 1/4th of it) and more yellow.
