Cured Grey V3 resin all over build plate and messy flash around prints

I would try running a print in Open mode. No build plate, no vat (or a new, never used one,) no resin, no wiper. Watch the laser dance around on the top cover. It should give you an idea of what is going on. Looking at the mess on the build plate, you should see a whole bunch of laser scatter. At that quantity of cured bits, I don’t see how that could possibly be laser flare if the Form 2 even has laser flare.

I have no real idea if the above is possible with a Form 2. I do that with my Form 1+ to see what is going on when I need to.

second test print today - After factory reset

Much better than previous, most of the rest of the resin on the build platform scraped of easily as liquid resin into the tray.
There was one small patch of cured resin off to one side of the part support platform.

the part itself is almost there,… but still has weird skin around the usual ‘down slope’ drain points

no cured resin on sides of platform.

I have no confidence in building anything of any worth at the moment. I can see me sending this printer back.
Question is, do I want another one or is this the indicative reality of desktop SLA…

Had another go at V2 of the part I tried to print the other day… came out perfect.
This time ALL the resin was filtered & I made sure I scraped the silicone layer of the build tray thoroughly first with a credit card.

There was NO cured resin on the build platform, and NO blistering or flaps.

Last nights build, same procedure with the credit card in the resin tray, made sure there was none stuck to silicone base and mixed contents in tray…

Back to cured resin all over the aluminium build platform and blisters, flaps, at all ‘last to drip’ points

basically anywhere the resin has hung onto a surface for a while.

Last nights build

More Blistering

Filtered contents of Resin Tray 'Frothy Jelly" get this much after every build, if I dont filter after every build I get real problems like previously mentioned, more blistering, flappy bits etc

Video of what appears to be a smear or smog on the underside of the glass cover. Covers around 50% of the non wiper end.
Smear / Fog video

There does indeed seem to be streak marks and small smudges on the glass. Mostly across the top section of the glass (in the video) Tough to say on which side they are in the video. If you have already cleaned multiple times with the recommended PEC pads then definitely open up a ticket so Formlabs can further investigate.

Edit: I scrolled up and noticed you already have a ticket open with them. Be sure to follow up and update the ticket with this info!

Yeah, your arrow is just a reflection, maybe my phone sat on the cover top, its the “tiger striping” pattern that is all over the left hand side, literally 50% of the glass.
I updated my support ticket, looks like they are sending out a new glass cover.

I think its this that’s causing refracted light to mess up my parts and platform & creating the jelly spawn in the resi… time will tell but i’m not to chuffed about having to do this on a 20 day old purchase.

I guess I’m not the only one having issues with grey v3. it’s been terrible.

Checked your window? Mine was brand new but still had smears on the inside face of the glass… use a really bright torch.
