One of these is a trash can, the other 3 are junk. Its hard for me to fathom that these build chambers are not rebuildable or able to be reconditioned in any way. For this pic (2) of them have plug issues and one has a heater sensor issue. According to my last communication with formlabs both of these issues are not fixable and we are just out the $4,000 and forced to buy another one. The newer plugs are better than the old ones but its a shame to have $12,000 sitting in a corner.
Not the first comment about this issue. It’s not mentioned anywhere that this element is a consumable.
usually consumables such as tanks, cannot receive maintenance.
But this buildchambers need maintenance, and despite the cost and this they are treated as trash. Considering the “thousands” of Fuse machines sold, then thousands of users are facing this globally.
Very interesting. One of mine has close to 3000 hours on it and no issues like this. Can you assemble one or two functional chambers out of the three?
Hi @bigdogsteel , Réka from Formlabs Support here. I’m sorry you’re having such a frustrating experience with your build chambers. I’d like to clarify a few things regarding how we handle Build Chamber service and see if we can find a better path forward for you.
A few points on Build Chamber support:
We do actually offer various spare parts to help keep Build Chambers in operation. The Build Chamber is covered by a one-year warranty. Additionally, it is included under our Accessories Coverage as long as your Fuse is under a Standard Factory Warranty, Complete Service Plan, or Production Service Plan.
While we aim for modularity, some components aren’t currently user-replaceable due to their manufacturing process. For instance, certain internal connections are crimped directly rather than using a quick-connect plug, which makes field repairs significantly more complex.
That being said, I want to make sure your specific cases were evaluated correctly. Please DM me your case numbers, and I will personally look into the history of these units to see if there are any options we might have missed to get you back up and running.
I highly doubt it. If you could I would have hoped Formlabs would have helped us out with that info. I have no clue how many hours are on these build chambers but we print full chambers about everyday.
