Hello all! I am fairly new to the form 4 ecosystem and am having a minor issue. Everytime i have to switch cartridges i get a minor line defect at the point where the resin was swapped. I am beginning to make some tools in batches of 10 tools (650ml). I have 1 Liter cartridges that i will have to change every print unless i start with a new cartridge and dont use the leftover which isnt ideal.
My first thought was to get a pump and 5L bottles but id have the same issue just less often.
Is there and settings that might help reduce this?
don’t leave it paused for more than a minute and that shouldn’t happen if it’s going to be overnight, make sure you have enough to start it tells you how much resin it’s going to take to print and if it says you have less than that then either put a new cannister in or manually add resin to the tank but dont over fill

That makes sense for some situations but i was hoping there was something more seamless so i can print unattended.
I assume if i dump a partial cartridge into the vat the system can read that resin level? That way it uses the resin i added before using more of the cartridge.

correct it has:
Resin sensing
Formlabs SLA printers have a component known as LevelSense, that measures the amount of resin in the resin tank during a print. By monitoring the resin level, the printer can automatically dispense resin from the cartridge into the tank whenever the resin in the tank begins to run low. As long as the cartridge isn’t empty, the print won’t pause or fail because there isn’t enough resin in the tank.
So I run a lot of non Formlabs Materials and these I constantly have to fill to meet the print requirements because they haven’t came out with OPEN Material Resin Cartridge that runs all off weight. but it will tell me if there is too much resin.
