Great post; thanks for sharing! I’ve made use of completely customized supports in the past (done in CAD software), and when I use Preform-generated ones I tend to thoroughly check them by hand, layer by layer, prior to printing. All too often I notice cases where the tip of a support isn’t placed at the very “bottom” of an outcrop of my model, causing the first few layers of some region to be “orphaned” (i.e. printed without a support or any connection to the rest of my model).
I really wish the software gave us better tools to perform this sort of verification and correction.
