Wanted: ability to remotely start / stop a print job

It would be very nice to be able to start or stop a print job remotely (via internet, iPhone app, etc.).

I use a webcam to monitor the progress of large prints when I can’t be at the shop, I’d like to be able to stop a job if it is low on resin / a failed print / etc.

Also, would be nice to be able to send a print job via the internet (that part I can figure out), but there is no way for me to press the “start” button on the machine when I’m away. Is there a way to do that via software instead of physically pressing the button?

Hi Thomas. Inspecting the printer before allowing each print to start is important. But if you want to walk on the wild side, find a friend that knows how to hook an Arduino to the internet and connect that to the back of the button on your Form1. Then they can make you an app to control it. I am very sure that would void your warranty though.

I am a bit experienced with Arduino. I think I will make a mechanical finger that actuates to push the button

Or take easy street and buy a “Belkin WeMo Switch” to cut the power.

I never like to cut power on nice equipment…

Yea I agree. Just throwing it out there.
