I’m curious. The V5 5L resin cartridges come with a resin card that says Form 4 on one end and Form 3 on the other.
Does this mean that V5 5L is compatible with Form 3 with resin pump?
It seems the 5L for Form 3 are no longer available.

Black, Clear, Grey and White V5 are not compatible with Form 3 at the moment, neither as 1 L cartridges or using the Resin Pumping System. If you insert it you’ll be able to see that it’s V5 but won’t be able to send jobs of that material.
My guess is that it’s just easier to produce one kind of card and it creates less hassle in case new compatibilities are added.
All you have to do is decant it into another cartridge. The material is exactly the same. I’ve experimented on my form 3 and 3L and haven’t had any issues either decanting into used cartridges or just pouring it straight into the tank. Now of course the cartridges lock out after a while but you still save cash overall by only buying a proper cartridge now and again.
sure. I’ve done that with Form 3 compatible resins. V5 is not exaclty the same as the V4 variants. At least, they definitely look different.
Just wasn’t sure if printing V5 resins on the Form 3 would cause it to burst into flames and open a portal to hell or something.
Everyone knows that demons emerging through hell portals hate cinnamon, so just keep some on standby and you should be good to go
I’ve definitely used clear v5 with v4 settings on my 3L and it printed fine. Same the other way around (V4 clear with V5 settings on the 4L, or the old formulation of Tough 2000)
I was told that these work…but you may get higher risk of failure due to resin viscosity differences and also dimensional accuracy and/or mechanical properties that can’t be fully guaranteed.
From my experience it was good enough for me when I was transitioning between machines.
“good enough” might be just right for the application I have in mind
