Is there a trade-in or upgrade for existing Form3 users?

Formlabs market is likely more commercial oriented. And that makes sense. But for those of us that purchased the Form3 out of our personal budget for home use. It’s very hard to justify the cost of a new Form4. I would like it. If the price was right I would do it. But I also have a Bambu lab printer. And the reality is I use it MUCH more than I do Form3. It’s kind of shocking how good the FDM printer is. Ease of use, reliablity and cost of materials makes the decision for home users pretty clear.

And now I am seeing new material advancements that only apply to Form4. So we are starting to feel left out…

I think there is a market for Formlabs, going after customers like me. Clearly not as big as commercial users. But then again all you have to do is make it more financially competitive with the current FDM solutions. Maybe try the not for commercial use route? So as not to impact your commercial market.

I recommend getting in touch with the sales team in your region or getting in touch with one of our partners who will be able to take in your request, make you an offer and see what we can do.
Basically we’re not taking in Form 3s anymore, we had an upgrade campaign during the first few months of the Form 4, but that campaign has ended by now, but maybe there’s something our colleagues in the sales department can do for an existing customer.
