HI all,
I’m new in SLA printing space (did most FDM so far), for a client I need to 3D Print in colored clear resin. Anyone experience with mixing clear resin with the color kit? As i don’t want to waste full cartridges, would it be possible to buy empty cartidges so i can make small volumes?
Thanks for feedback. I saw old post on this topic, but with very low to no response.

I assume you are doing this with Form 4 and Clear v5 using color kit dye? Long story short it will work.
I can’t fully speak for clear v5 as I have only done with clear v4, but I cannot imagine the experience being that possibly different. It will work, you have two choices:
- Put around 1/4 portion of what they advertise into cartridge, color obviously good for entire cartridge.
- Put around 1/5 potion or less into tank, keep cartridge clear, good for some small prints.
This should give you a nice translucent clear color in that you seek. You probably have to experiment more as the dye is pretty strong with a clear resin as base. Given what you have said, I would recommend you dye JUST the resin in a tank, use a clear cartridge with nothing to finish several small prints, then toss the dyed resin and clean the tank and restore it to a pure clear tank.
Now… on the other hand, I have experienced the most dimensional accuracy with Clear v5 currently with severe part warping. Wonder what you have found with printing on Form 4?
Thanks for the info, will give it soon a try
