PreForm request : Improvements to the Hole Tool

Hi everyone,

I’d like to suggest a few improvements for the Hole tool in PreForm:

  1. Keep parameters persistent – Currently, the settings (diameter, countersink, etc.) reset every time the tool is used. It would be really helpful if PreForm remembered the last used values, so we don’t have to re-enter them for each hole.
  2. Allow multiple holes before validation – At the moment, only one hole can be placed at a time before confirming. Being able to position several holes and then validate them all together would make the workflow much faster.
  3. Flexible orientation – Holes can only be created perpendicular to the selected face. It would be great to have the option to orient them in other directions.
  4. Batch editing – The ability to select and edit multiple holes at once (e.g., change their diameter) would be a huge time saver.

I believe these changes would significantly improve efficiency and usability when preparing models in PreForm.

Thanks for considering this request!

Thanks for the suggestions, I’ll pass this feedback on internally!

This please. If I’m looking at my model from the top-down I want the hole to go in that same direction. It’s very seldom that I need a hole perpendicular to a selected face, but I do need holes straight through a part.

Please, these suggestions are soooo necessary:

2 - Allow multiple holes before validation – At the moment, only one hole can be placed at a time before confirming. Being able to position several holes and then validate them all together would make the workflow much faster.

3 - Flexible orientation – Holes can only be created perpendicular to the selected face. It would be great to have the option to orient them in other directions.
