Preform replace feature am I doing something wrong?

Hi all,

I use the replace feature fairly often packing chambers for the Fuse1, sometimes perform replaces the part in the correct space and sometimes it places it in some random location within the build volume. Is there something I can do to make this feature more reliable? Sometimes these are nested parts so it takes some effort to move them all back to their correct location.

I´ve had that issue for several years. Reported it to support but never had any actual response to it other than they will pass it along to their software departement.

Its good to know I am not the only one. It must be a complex issue or else I expect it would have been fixed by now. Its strange because sometimes it works fine and sometimes it goes crazy.

Indeed. I´ve tried to figure out the issue but to no avail. So now i have to rebuild the printjob if i replace parts wich is time consuming. I do hope they sort this out.

This is a complaint I have for SLA parts as well. Sometimes the replace function just croaks even if the part changes are extremely small. Have also brought this up several times too :smiling_face_with_tear:

Now i noticed when i import a build into another build it does not place the imported build correctly. Preform pushes the imported build into the right wall so that function does not work for me anymore at all. New things everyday it seems.

Hi all

I’m the Product Manager for PreForm. I’m sorry you’re having issues with the Replace feature.

We’re actively thinking about improving this feature. Would you be open to getting on a call with me and walking me through your usecase, how you’re running into the bug, and the ideal workflow for you?

Feel free to DM and we can set up time.

Cheers!
